Track session (3×2 mi @ 10K goal pace)
5 minute recoveries. Phew, did it! Hard work with quite a windy home straight, but managed to hit target pace consistently so pleased with the session.
Will start to wind things down gradually now ahead of the race a week on Saturday. Fingers crossed the wind eases off by then!

Hackney Marshes parkrun #278
In two minds about parkrunning today as the weather was wet and windy, but woke up feeling fresh so decided to go for it. Glad I did! The trip to Hackney was worth it as I had people around me to run with. Great flat course although small trail section was a bit slippy today. Pleased with the PB even though there was a decent wind against me at times.

Equal distance recoveries. Still getting used to these shorter distance intervals – they’re hard work! Aiming for Daniels “I” pace of 1:24 per 400m, so pleased to hit this +/- a few seconds consistently the whole way through.

Track session (2×2 mi, 2×1 mi @ goal 10K pace)
I’ve switched to doing these late morning now the clocks have gone back. Overall pleased with the performance – definitely not easy but it’s not supposed to be and seem to be on track for a decent sub-40 performance in a little over three weeks time.
Didn’t quite mean for this to be 12 miles in total – had forgotten that with 6 miles of effort, plus recoveries and warm-up/warm-down, it would all add up.

Track tempo session

Felt a bit hung over today, and legs didn’t feel too strong on the warmup to the track so I wasn’t sure how today’s session would pan out. Felt strong once I got going though and managed a good, consistent pace.
